Wholesale & pricing
Do you offer matcha wholesale across Canada?
Yes. WA MATCHA is a wholesale matcha supplier based in Victoria, British Columbia. We hold stock locally and supply cafés, hotels, restaurants, bakeries and retailers in Victoria, Vancouver and across Canada.
How does wholesale pricing work?
Our published prices are list prices in Canadian dollars, with taxes and delivery extra. Discounts are available depending on your order volume and business relationship — contact us and we will confirm the terms for your business.
What are your minimum order quantities?
Trade bags (Premium 1kg, Premium 500g and Culinary Blend 500g) start from one bag. Premium 30g tins are sold in sixes, so the minimum order is 6 tins. 20g pouches are sold singly while available. Ceremonial “Tsuyuhikari” is made to order.
Do you offer free samples for businesses?
Yes — free samples are available for businesses. Send us a short note through the contact form with your business name and how you plan to use matcha.
How do I place a wholesale order?
You can order online from our product pages, by email at info@sales.wamatcha.ca, or by phone. We are in Victoria and confirm what we have on hand the same day.
Products & grades
Where does WA MATCHA come from?
All of our matcha is grown in Shizuoka, Japan — from Tenryu, Kikugawa, Kakegawa and Makinohara — across seventeen partner farms. It is made by Ryutsu Service Co., Ltd. in Kikugawa, a fourth-generation tea house founded in 1905.
What is the difference between Ceremonial, Premium and Culinary?
Ceremonial “Tsuyuhikari” is stone-milled and made for matcha whisked and served on its own. Premium is bead-milled and built for lattes, iced drinks, creams and glazes. Culinary Blend is a robust matcha for baking — breads, cakes and cookies.
Which matcha is best for matcha lattes?
We recommend Premium for lattes. It keeps a vivid green colour in milk and works out to about $0.77 per 2g latte with the 1kg bag at list price.
How is Premium matcha milled?
Our Premium matcha is bead-milled. Only the Ceremonial grade above it is stone-milled.
How is the tea leaf grown?
For at least thirty days before picking, the plants are covered to keep the new shoots out of the sun — increasingly on trellises built under solar panels. Shade raises theanine, lowers catechin and turns the leaves deep green.
Shipping, stock & partnership
Where do you ship from?
We hold stock in Victoria, BC, rather than shipping each order from Japan, so supply can move mid-month. Delivery charges are shown at checkout or confirmed with your order.
How should we store bulk matcha?
As a rule of thumb, keep matcha airtight, cool, dark and away from strong odours, and use it promptly once opened. Our Journal has a full guide to storing bulk matcha for cafés.
What is the WA MATCHA Certified Partner certificate?
Every WA MATCHA stockist receives a personalised Certified Partner certificate to display in-store. It recognises our partnership — it is not a product certification.
Is Culinary Blend 500g available now?
Culinary Blend 500g is currently sold out and expected to ship from October. Contact us if you would like to be notified or receive a sample.
